Writing Task of the Week

Read the promts carefully BEFORE you decide on either one and start to write!
Follow the rules and make your posts BELOW!

  • The public influence of stars and celebrities has drawn the government’s attention to invite __________(a name) as an ambassador for the United Nations MDGs.
    (1) Who do you think makes the best candidate for UN? Why?
    (2) How is he/she going to help UN achieve the MDGs or any one of the goals?
    (3) What is likely to be a potential problem to avoid (if there is any)?

    Write 120-150 words to answer the questions above.Please note that your wiring will be evaluated according to how well you:
    (a) focus on the assigned topic (25%),
    (b) exhibit creativity and originality (25%),
    (c) develop and organize ideas (25%),
    (d) manage language rules (25%).

  • The United Nations MDGs have aroused different reactions and perceptions since they were developed in 2000. The two pictures above show how the development goals are perceived in part.
    (1) Based on the pictures, how are their ideas different from or similar to the author of the text? Why?
    (2) How do you see yourself respond to them or to the completion of the goals?
